the sleep fights continue. i have never seen a child so determined to NOT sleep. my sister-in-law and i often have the discussion about how lovely it would be to be a child again - to take naps, eat whatever you want (and not have it show up in your caboose), and the only worries are the next game you're going to play. ahhhh. i must say that i LOVE naps (those of you who know me well are chuckling right now). i have definitely gotten better about my naps, but on a rainy weekend day, there's nothing better.

it was a valiant fight today - an hour and fifteen minutes. usually it's not that bad - 20 minutes tops and he's out. but today, not so. it looked promising, the tired eyes, the blinking getting longer and longer and then...the dreaded second wind. the sense that "hmmmm...i think i am going to sleep..." and the determination of a two-year-old. after eli's rousing chorus of "we will rock you" mommy admitted defeat and released the prisoner. let's hope for an early bedtime...
